Drumroll Please!

Rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat! We feel like we should be rolling out the red carpet and setting up a welcoming band! Take a bow Deltec, take a bow. Four two bedroom houses delivered right on schedule!

Ladies and gentlemen, you heard right. This week Mango, Hibiscus, Alamanda and Jasmine officially arrived on island. Super excited!

Now before everyone starts booking flights, we still have a long road ahead of us… literally and figuratively. It is going to be like a fine ballet getting four trailers from the ports warehouse, through the potholes and into the field at Guavaberry… and then off their chassis.

We have yet to actually build the foundations the houses will be placed on too. Nothing like a little pressure of staring at four (fifth arriving next week) trailers each day though. We’ll just call them motivators!

Don’t get confused if you see trucks from Mermaid Pools on property. We are not, we repeat.. are not, putting in a pool. Sorry guys. They are actually the company who will be building foundations and new cisterns for the houses. Let’s face it: a cistern is just a pool with a top on it right?! (Please note, this does not equate to us promoting swimming in cisterns. Bad idea.) Working with the company are.. get this… a Frenchman and a French Canadian. While not everyone will get the humor in that, we know the Canadians will!

Geoff from Mermaid Pools and his “Frenchies” have just six weeks to complete the foundation for Jasmine as we are then bringing in a “teacher” at the end of May to show the contractors how to assemble the houses. He is trained specifically in the assembly of Deltec houses so we felt it would be a good move to have him come and train our contractors too.

So, pressure is on here! Pedal to the metal, full steam ahead, ain’t no stopping us now!
